A special thank you goes to our host, Joseph, who was incredibly kind and always ready to help. He made us feel very welcome and even took care of us when one of us wasn’t feeling well. I had originally booked another guesthouse in Uppuveli, however it had a lot of mould, so I didn’t stay and found The Coastal Hotel instead. It was rustic, but clean and perfect for my 5 night stay. It is a 2 min walk to a spectacular beach with a few beach restaurants within a 10 min walk. The reception area has dining tables and a lounge area for the use of guests. The manager Joseph went out of his way to help me on a number of occasions and made sure my stay was seemless. He is an absolute credit to the hotel, extremely hard working, ensuring all of his guests are looked after.
