Villa Nature, Heated Pool

The location was very quiet and peaceful, up a track surrounded by orange groves, but only 5 minutes drive from a local village with bars and good restaurants, and ten minutes drive from the beaches and facilities on the coast. The villa was spacious for two, and would have been very comfortable for 4 (our family visited and our granddaughter stayed with us overnight). The pool was great for cooling off and playing with the family, and the grounds provided quiet places to sit in shade at any time of day. Kostas met us at the Villa and showed us round, and left us with various gifts including a supply of his own excellent olive oil and delicious pastries made by his mother. The beds and bedlinen were comfortable, and the kitchen was well equipped. There was good walking from the Villa, though during our stay it was too hot for us to do much. It's also a great location for bird watching: we didn't bring binoculars, but saw lots of birdlife around the Villa, heard Skops Owls every night, and even saw a pair of Hoopoes.

There really wasn't anything we didn't like. Kostas warned us that the aircon shouldn't be turned below 24, as it would potentially fail in the very hot weather (mid 30s). We were already acclimatised, and didn't mind keeping it around 26, but some people might find this uncomfortably warm. The road from the coast and the short section of unmade track to the villa had overhanging vegetation; it's easy to get some minor scratches on your car from this. We'd recommend NOT having a brand new car from a fussy hire company, and making sure you have excess cover just in case.
