WhyHouse is exceptional – and the difference is in how it’s run. The staff make you feel like a guest in their home rather than a customer, which takes the place from very good to genuinely memorable. The food is excellent (the set evening menu is the right call), the room is spacious and well-appointed, and the small touches – books in the room, multi-plug sockets, reusable water bottles – show that real thought has gone into the experience. Easily the best stay I’ve had in Sri Lanka. I’ll be back.

Read more ↓Our stay was lovely, no negatives, the host was engaging and delightful, and the staff were respectful but very attentive when required. It has a relaxing and quiet vibe about it, perfectly proportioned, plenty of privacy, and the swimming pool is simply stunning. There is an outdoor, but covered, lounge and eating area which can be used at any time to relax in. The meals were exceptional! The staff will advise and organise local trips, drivers, and have a handy tuk tuk chap on standby. We will definitely be returning and would recommend it to those wishing for a chilled and relaxing stay.
